Almanac Beer Co. Sour Ale Bourbon Peaches

Our latest version, Bourbon Barrel Pêche, was inspired by an almanac classic: Brandy Barrel Pêche. This year's version has swapped brandy barrels for Brecking Ridge and Four Roses bourbon barrels. We loaded our mixed fermentation farmhouse with three pounds a gallon of Blossom Bluff Orchard's White Snow and Fay Elberta peaches. The macerated yellow and white peaches were aged in used bourbon barrels with our acidic culture, until the beer was on the finish with notes of sweet vanilla and rich bourbon. Goes well with glazed pork chops, roast chicken and Grandma's peach cake.
