Until the 1970s, breweries in Dortmund brewed Adambier, a strong altbier with 10% alcohol, which was allowed to mature for several years after fermentation in old barrique barrels. The barrels pre-filled with red wine give Adam a delicate acidity. We brewed our Adam in 2019 and stored it in Pinot Noir barrels.
