Beer description
According to the brewing tradition of Eastern France and Belgium, La Saison is a beer that is brewed by harvesters for summer consumption. We have long wanted to brew this type of beer, which is slightly acidic, fruity and low in alcohol, while at the same time trying to add an unusual ingredient. And it was the result of our encounters at trade fairs that gave us a surprising idea, namely to brew a beer from the fruit of the baobab tree! Several times at trade fairs we shared stands with Matahi (Racines group), the manufacturer of delicious baobab fruit juice, and we wanted to use this unusual fruit with sour notes and acacia honey. We turned to them to get this valuable ingredient that comes from organic and fair trade agriculture in Senegal. During ProWein there was another meeting with Craftwerk, Bitburger's German experimental brewery, which had entered into numerous collaborations with breweries from all over the world during the ProWein (Hopworks Urban Brewery, Garage Project, Sierra Nevada), and we decided to have a beer together to brew that mixes ingredients from both countries: French malts (Occitania) and German malts and hops (Callista). So Stefan, the master brewer and Benedickt came to Béziers to spend a brewery day with us and to visit our beautiful region. From this exchange, Alaryk Saison was born, in a 33cl bottle and barrel, in a limited edition this summer! And as usual, the design of the label was created by Studio Asensò.
