Aecht Schlenkerla Fastenbier is an unfiltered smoked beer. The bottom-fermenting yeast gives the reddish light brown Lenten beer a slight natural cloudiness. Its smoky aroma is already apparent in the smell and is accompanied by a noble hop note. On the palate, the full-bodied, drinkable Lenten beer develops a strong malt aroma, which is rounded off by the smoky flavor and the subtle bitterness in the aftertaste.
