Magpie Brewery

Their story begins on a golf course! With three friends who had all taken early retirement, soon realised whiling away their hours on the green just wasn’t quite enough for them. Ken, Bob and Nick who were all keen home brewers and had already perfected their homebrew recipes, thought it was about time to scale it up and fill their days with their love of beer. In 2006 a premises was found on the edge of Nottingham city centre and Magpie Brewery was born. With the addition of Kens son Gavin in 2010, production has steadily increased, and in 2017 their modest 6 brewery barrel plant was upgraded, so they can now produce up to 20 barrels per brew.
