One Haná malt, one Satu Mare hops and New Zealand Wakatu hops were used in the production. It was bred in 1988. Its name is a garbled Maori version of the name Nelson (Whakatu). It was created by crossing German hops Hallertau Mittlefrüh, which was freely drunk with New Zealand hops. In addition to bitterness, it adds florality, tones of lime peel and herbs to the beer.
