Prince Bishop Veit Adam had a new brewery built in 1620 in parts of what's today known as the Dom-Gymnasium. During the secularization in 1803, the Hofbrauhaus went from the church to the state of Bavaria. In 1860 the brewmaster of the Hofbrauhaus, Karl Stiegler, brews the "Freisinger Weizen" for the first time, which was later renamed "Huber Weisses".
Hazy lemon-orange with a huge thick creamy rocky head. Condition is much lower than most bottled weissbiers. Big fruity banana nose with yeast and phenols. More banana in the mouth along with a pleasing fruity esteriness. Finish is soft sweet and chalky. From the same town as Weihenstephaner and almost as good as its bigger neighbour
